X JAPAN: Pro-Shot Footage From Reunion Concerts Posted Online
March 31, 2008Professionally filmed video footage of reactivated Japanese rockers X JAPAN's March 28, 2008 concert at the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan can be viewed below.
Performing with X JAPAN at the band's three reunion shows at the Tokyo Dome this past weekend were GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Richard Fortus and former LIMP BIZKIT and current BLACK LIGHT BURNS member Wes Borland.
Commented Borland in a posting on his MySpace blog, "Playing with X JAPAN was one of the coolest things I've ever done.
"Thanks to everyone who came to the shows.
"Richard Fortus and I tried to do our best with Sugizo to fill the massive hole left in the band where Hide once stood.
"I'm forever honored to have been part of the experience.
"To all the X JAPAN fans that didn't think I belonged there: I'm sorry if I ruined your time. I was trying to help my friend Yoshiki in the only way I knew how. I hope you can forgive the intrusion.
"I had an amazing time and I think the shows turned out to be really special. There may be more to come."
X JAPAN's influential lead guitarist Hideto "Hide" Matsumoto committed suicide in May 1998.
Fortus and fellow GN'R guitarist Robin Finck played X JAPAN's "Endless Rain" as part of their guitar duet during some of GN'R's Japanese shows in July 2007.
X JAPAN's new song, "I.V.", topped iTunes' daily charts upon its release on January 23 in both Overall Sales and Rock categories.
X JAPAN is the first Asian artist to chart high worldwide on iTunes and the Billboard music site Billboard.biz.
